Almássy Mansion

The Baroque-style Almássy Mansion, built in the 18th century, can be found in the historical center of Miskolc, on the Town Hall Square. In the 19th century, the main street facade of the building was expanded in accordance with the romantic style of the time.

The Almássy Mansion is considered one of the most beautiful monuments in Miskolc. The archaeologists found a number of ornamental wall paintings in the provincial style in the middle room on the first floor.

The gas explosion in 1984 damaged it so much that the house needed major reconstruction. The exterior renovation work was only completed later, in 1993, but work continued on improving the interior.
